Zion Episcopal Church, 140 W. Liberty St., will hold its 32nd annual Messiah Sing at 3 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 23.
Soloists this year are Erin MacDonald, soprano; Elizabeth Militello, mezzo-soprano; Nathaniel McEwen, tenor; and Kevin Spooner, baritone. G. Roberts Kolb, from Hamilton College, will once again conduct the event, and Sar-Shalom Strong will serve as piano accompanist.
The community is invited to come and join in the singing, or just sit and enjoy the sound of more than 200 voices singing Handel’s Messiah.
Singers perform the Christmas section of the Messiah, and then complete the concert with the Hallelujah chorus. The concert will be followed by a reception in Clarke Memorial Hall. There will be copies of the Messiah available to borrow when singers arrive if they do not have one.
The late Carol Stack, long-time organist and choir director, started the tradition in 1986 using high school seniors as the soloists, and members of the community as the chorus.
