The Zion Episcopal Church, 140 W. Liberty St., is hosting Rome Helping Rome on Saturday, Oct. 14 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the church parking lot, across from city hall.
Co-sponsored by Rome Main Street Alliance, the event is free and includes a barbecue lunch catered by Scotty’s of Rome for up to 250 people.
Tables will be set-up with information from local service groups including the United Way, Red Cross, CareNet, Mohawk Valley Community Action, Center for Family Life and Recovery, House of the Good Shepherd and more. These representatives will be present to “answer questions and provide hope,” organizers said.
The event is possible in part through a grant from the Episcopal Diocese of Central New York.
