Zebb’s in New Hartford closing, cites revenue, increased competition

NEW HARTFORD — Local business Zebb’s Deluxe Bar & Grill, 8428 Seneca Turnpike, is closing.

In a note placed on its bulletin board, Zebb’s explained to its employees and customers that it has been losing money for the past two years and is unable to compete with other businesses.

“We regret to inform you all that on Sunday 7/29/19 at the end of days business, Zebb’s New Hartford will be shutting its doors and closing the restaurant,” the note said.

“I am proud to say that we made it 27 years all impart by the hard work, dedication, your professionalism and the commitment to service you provided. Thank You for all you have done to make yourself and the ones around you succeed and be the best. There are many reasons why the store is closing. None of it has to do with you. We have tried to fight the good fight against the on goings of Albany, competitive intrusions of other restaurants as well as other issues. The fact is that the store has lost money for the last two years due to a number of reasons. We just cannot incur the loss anymore,” the note added.

Although it is stated in the note they will be closing on July 29, it has been confirmed by an employee that they are now closing on July 28. It is also stated that if employees stop coming to work they will have to close sooner.
