ROME — The 2023 Winter Session of the Rome Capitol Theatre’s Rising Stars youth acting program begins on Saturday, Jan. 7.

Age-appropriate classes for students in grades 2-12, as well as post-grads and college students, are offered on Saturdays, teaching both acting skills and skills necessary for their real lives.

Four 10-week sessions are offered each year.  Tuition is $140 per student, per session.  Family discounts are available.

Students will improve reading comprehension, speaking skills, and develop self-confidence, acceptance of personal responsibility and teamwork through theatre games and exercises, individual coaching, and actual performance, while having fun and making new friends.  No audition or previous experience is necessary.  All may attend.

Classes are taught and performances directed by professional actor and director, Janet Foote. Along with husband Rod Foote, she is the owner and producer of the Chatham Theatre Company. Foote also taught Theatre Arts at the high school level, and has been teacher and director of the Rising Stars program at Rome’s Capitol Arts Complex since 2015. For more information or to register, email RisingStarsJanet@aol.com.
