VILLAGE OF YORKVILLE — A 56-year-old woman died while out in the cold overnight between Wednesday and Thursday, according to police officials.
The cause of death remains under investigation. Police said foul play is not suspected in her death.
The woman, whose identity has not been released, was found huddled underneath a pickup truck behind a residence on Whitesboro Street at about 8 a.m. Thursday, police said. She was discovered by the resident, who was going to move his truck.
Temperatures dipped into the teens and single digits overnight this week, with snowfall throughout the area.
Police said the woman was captured on nearby surveillance cameras walking in the area Wednesday evening. Police said the woman lives about three blocks from where she was found.
Police believe the woman was walking home, though they do not yet know where she was walking from.
The exact cause of death is pending an autopsy, police said.
