YMCA presentation to offer tips on how to stick to fitness routine

ONEIDA — Members of the community can learn healthy tips and strategies for sticking to a fitness routine at a free wellness presentation, “Sticky Fitness: How to Maintain a Health Promoting Fitness Regimen,” from 6-7 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 14, at the Oneida branch of the YMCA of the Greater Tri-Valley on Seneca Street.

Dr. Scott Petosa, speaker, will present research-based self-management strategies proven to help you successfully incorporate a fitness program into your lifestyle.

Dr. Petosa is the director of KAG Consulting, offering practical programs in life skills, academic skills, family relationships, emotional issues, athletic performance and spiritual life applications through life coaching and consulting. He holds graduate degrees in exercise science, health psychology and sports psychology. Dr. Petosa has published research on self-management strategies used by adults to promote compliance to fitness and exercise programs.

Dr. Petosa serves as director of KidFitness at the YMCA of the Greater Tri-Valley’s Oneida branch and works with at-risk youth in Madison County.

A retired United States Air Force officer, he is a former director of the Exercise and Sport Performance Laboratory and professor and head lacrosse coach at the United States Air Force Academy, Colorado.

The program is free, and registration is not required for the seminar. All ages may attend.
