Working Solutions unveils enhanced website for job seekers, businesses

UTICA — The Workforce Development Board, Herkimer, Madison, and Oneida Counties, Inc. — best known by local job seekers and businesses as Working Solutions, has recently launched a new website — www.working-solutions.org — that provides a large scope of free resources.

Among the services offered on the new website include:

The ability for job seekers to search jobs across six counties with a custom job search link, as well as view recent local job postings;

The ability to find out about the agency’s free training grant programs and eligibility requirements;

The ability to subscribe to the agency’s blog to get notified of new hiring events, free training/learning opportunities, new featured job opportunities, and “breaking” workforce news;

The opportunity to subscribe to Working Solutions’ monthly newsletter on the front page of the website;

The ability to access an online form for businesses to submit job opportunities to be posted on the New York State Job Bank and local social media, as well as a contact form to procure recruitment or training services,and the ability view current labor market information and workforce surveys and news;

The opportunity to access a contact form for businesses and job seekers to request services from local business representatives or Working Solutions centers.

The Workforce Development Board of Herkimer, Madison and Oneida Counties is part of the Public Workforce System, a network of federal, state, and local offices that support economic expansion and develop the talent of the nation’s workforce.

Local Workforce Development Boards endeavor to strengthen the workforce by creating partnerships between businesses and workers that lead to long-term growth and prosperity for both.

The agency seeks to serve as a leader and a catalyst for workforce development programs and services, and as a regional partner, creating impactful strategies to meet the region’s immediate and long-term workforce needs and economic development priorities.

According to the announcement, the Workforce Development Board of Herkimer, Madison and Oneida Counties has, during the past 12 months, trained, provided job placement and other supportive services to more than 500 individuals.

For those who require in-person assistance, local Working Solutions offices can be found at: 300 W. Dominick St., Rome; the New York State Office Building, 207 Genesee St., Utica; the Herkimer County Office Building, 320 N. Prospect St., Herkimer; and at the Madison County Office Complex, 133 N. Court St. in Wampsville.
