A Rome woman was hospitalized after her vehicle was rear-ended on Route 233 in the city’s outer district on Thursday, according to law enforcement officials.
Sheriff’s deputies said Kimberly Bryant, 36, of Rome, was northbound shortly after 1 p.m. when she came to a stop to negotiate a curve near Evans Road. Deputies said Bryant’s 2009 Subaru was rear-ended by a 2019 Chevy Silverado, driven by Peter Lopez, 30, of Clinton.
Bryant suffered head and neck pain and was taken to St. Elizabeth Medical Center in Utica for evaluation, authorities said. Lopez was ticketed for following too closely and unreasonable speed, deputies stated. He is scheduled to appear in City Court.
