ROME — A Boonville woman was charged with having with a quantity of pills without a prescription in Rome very early Sunday morning, according to law enforcement officials with the Rome Police Department.

Police said Kendal L. Rhone, 22, was a passenger in a vehicle that was pulled over for driving suspiciously and for a suspended registration at Black River Boulevard and East Dominick Street at about 1:10 a.m.
Sunday. Once stopped, police said both the driver and Rhone were found to be unlicensed and the vehicle was towed and searched.

A pill bottle with the label taken off was found in the vehicle, and it contained 3 1/2 pills of generic Xanax, police stated.

Rhone is charged with seventh-degree possession of a controlled substance and was released on an appearance ticket for Rome City Court, police stated. The driver was also ticketed for vehicle and traffic violations, authorities noted.
