Woman charged with DUI after striking house on Mill Street

A 30-year-old woman was charged with driving under the influence after her pickup truck hit a house on Mill Street in Rome Monday morning, according to law enforcement officials.

Police said Marsadie S. Amberg, of Old Oneida Road, lost control of her truck in the 100 block of Mill St. at about 8:42 a.m. Monday. Police said the truck drove through a hedgerow and a fence before glancing off the side of a residence, breaking a window and damaging the siding.

The truck came to rest in the back yard. Police said the homeowner was asleep at the time and was woken up by the crash.

Police said Amberg was not injured. Police said she was driving on what may have been prescription medication. Amberg is charged with driving under the influence of drugs, third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation and moving from lane unsafely, authorities said.

Amberg is scheduled to appear in City Court.
