Utica woman charged in stabbing
UTICA — A 43-year-old woman is accused of stabbing a man twice in the leg in Utica Saturday night, according to the Utica Police Department.
Police said the male victim was at a residence in the 300 block of Blandina St. at about 11:30 p.m. when he got into an argument with Cassandra Newbold, 43, of Utica. The victim told police he was familiar with Newbold.
During the argument, police said Newbold stabbed the man twice in the leg with a knife.
Newbold was taken into custody with the knife at a residence in the 800 block of Park Ave. Police said Newbold is charged with second-degree assault, a class D felony, and fourth-degree possession of a weapon. She is scheduled to appear in Utica City Court.
