Woman accused of threats with knife in Rome
ROME — A 39-year-old woman is accused of threatening another woman with a large knife on North Madison Street very early Saturday morning, according to the Rome Police Department.
Police said Rebecca S. Parker, of Rome, went to a residence in the 400 block around 2 a.m. Saturday looking for her ex-boyfriend. Police said Parker had a confrontation with her ex-boyfriend's sister, during which Parker pulled out a large knife and threatened to fight the sister.
Parker left the scene when other family members arrived, authorities said, and she returned a short time later, once officers were on scene. Police said Parker squared up in the street as if readying for another confrontation with the victim, and continued to cause a scene in the street.
Parker is charged with one count each of first-degree menacing, a felony, second-degree menacing, a misdemeanor, disorderly conduct and trespass, police said. Parker is scheduled to appear in Rome City Court.
