MARTINSBURG — A Lewis County woman has been charged after law enforcers said she provided alcohol to upward of 20 underage people at a graduation party July 27.

Two people at the party needed to be checked out by emergency responders, authorities said.

Sheriff’s deputies said they were called to the intersection of Route 12 and Tiffany Road at 11:12 p.m. for an unresponsive 20-year-old woman. Deputies said they searched the area and found the girl in a vehicle parked in a nearby field.

Deputies said they learned that Jeri L. Bailey, 41, of Route 12, Lowville, hosted a high school graduation party in the field, and upward of 20 young people were found to be drinking alcohol. Deputies said the 20-year-old and another person were so intoxicated they needed to be evaluated and treated by EMTs.

Bailey is charged with one count of unlawfully dealing with a child, authorities said. She is scheduled to appear in Town Court.
