Woman accused of stabbing boyfriend in hand during dispute


A Rome woman has been charged with felony assault for stabbing her boyfriend in the hand Friday night, according to city police.

Authorities said Christine S. Beckwith, 48, of Floyd Avenue, was in an argument with her companion at their home in the Bariles Mobile Home Park at about 10 p.m. Friday. Police said Beckwith stabbed the man in the hand with a kitchen knife, causing a minor laceration.

Police said the couple’s two young children witnessed the attack.

Beckwith is charged with one count of second-degree assault, a class D felony, and two counts of endangering the welfare of a child, a misdemeanor, police stated. She is scheduled to appear in City Court.
