ROME — Accused of fighting with her sister at Liberty Gardens, a 58-year-old woman has been charged with assault, according to the Rome Police Department.

Police said Robin M. Weathington, of Rome, got into an argument with her live-in niece at their apartment at Liberty Gardens at about 4:30 p.m. Sept. 2. Police said Weathington’s sister arrived at the scene to break them up, and she got into a fight with Weathington.

During the scuffle, police said Weathington struck her sister and pulled her hair, causing a small cut on her left eyebrow.

Weathington is charged with one count of third-degree assault, a misdemeanor, police said. She is scheduled to appear in Rome City Court.
