William W. “Bill” Hatch, 86 years, of the Town of Western, passed away on Monday June 3, 2019 at The Grand of Rome. Born in Old Town, ME, on Saturday August 13, 1932 he was the son of the late Albert and Lillian (West) Hatch. On September 24, 1955 he was united in marriage to the former Mildred Phetterplace.

Bill worked at the Rome Fish Hatchery for 40 years and was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church.

Bill and Mildred followed Stock car Racing legend Richie Evans up and down the East Coast throughout his career.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 63 years, Mildred, and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by two sisters.

Private services will be held at the convenience of the family. There are no calling hours.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Nunn and Harper Funeral Home, Inc., 418 N. George St., Rome.
