Jack Wilde hurled a complete-game five-hitter as Sherrill defeated Rome 3-1 on Wednesday in a New York Collegiate Baseball League game at DeLutis Field.
Wilde allowed one run, four walks and struck out four as the Silversmiths improved to 8-21-1.
Sherrill outhit the Generals 13-5 en route to the victory.
Matt Nodoro led the way with three hits, while Vernon-Verona-Sherrill graduates Davey Moffett and Blake VanDreason, along with Michael Tito and Chase Ferem had two hits each. Moffett, Tito and Nodoro drove in one run apiece.
The Generals, who dropped to 13-15-1, were paced by Theron Schilling with a pair of hits.
Josh Denison went 2 1/3 innings to suffer the loss for Rome. He yielded two runs, five hits, no walks and struck out one.
Sherrill visits the Syracuse Saltcats tonight at 7, while the Generals travel to Olean for a doubleheader beginning at 5.
