Whitesboro’s Gregory earns another accolade

Whitesboro High School graduate and SUNY Poly senior basketball player Josh Gregory is among the top players at the NCAA Division III level.

Gregory, a 6-foot-8 forward, was selected to the d3hoops.com All-American team. He was one the website’s fourth team. D3hoops All-American honors are given to the top 25 players in Division III.

It is the most recent honor for Gregory, who was named the North Atlantic Conference Player of the Year. He was also part of the D3hoops.com All-Region 1 Second Team and NABC All-District 1 First Team. Gregory is a three-time all-conference First Team selection and was named D3hoops.com Player of the Week once and NAC Player of the Week three times this season.

In 25 games with SUNY Poly this season, he shot 50.9% from the field, 77.6% from the line and 41.7% from three-point range to average 22.1 points. He collected a total of 259 rebounds and had a per-game rebounding average of 9.3. Gregory had 67 assists, 30 steals and 31 blocks. He led the NAC with 531 points, 231 total rebounds, 194 defensive rebounds, 185 field goals and 114 free throws made.

Gregory led the Wildcats in scoring for the last two seasons and finished his career second all-time with 1,891 points and third all-time with 200 three-pointers made. He ranks second all-time in field goals made (659), second all-time in rebounds (905), and second all-time in blocked shots (133), according to the school.
