Westmo baseball stays unbeaten


WESTMORELAND — Hunter Kierpiec pitched a complete game, allowing one run and one hit while striking out seven to help Westmoreland earn a 9-1 win over Herkimer in a Center State Conference Division II baseball game on Tuesday.

Kierpiec also walked three in earning his third win of the season for the Bulldogs, who improved to 6-0 overall.

Westmoreland jumped out a 3-0 lead after three innings. The team extended it to 6-0 in the next two innings and made it 9-1 in the bottom of the sixth inning. The team had nine hits in the game.

The Bulldogs were led on offense by Caleb Miller, who was 3-for-4 with a double, two runs, an RBI and two stolen bases.

Westmoreland visits Frankfort-Schuyler at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.

No stats were available for Herkimer, which was scheduled to play at 4:30 p.m. Friday at Central Valley Academy.
