WESTERNVILLE — The Town of Western Historical Society is inviting the public to attend a presentation by Jay G Williams III on his book, “Memory Stones” A History of Welsh Americans in Central New York and their churches, at 7 p.m. tonight at Liberty Hall on Main Street.

Williams will speak about the existing buildings of former Welsh churches in the area. At one time there were nearly 100 Welsh chapels in Central New York — now only a few of the buildings survive.

Williams is a member of the Clinton Historical Society and has written two books on Welsh churches, one covering those in Central New York and one on all existing Welsh churches outside of Britain. He is a practicing attorney, pastor, town justice, and a frequent conduction of Welsh hymn sings. Williams and his wife, Kim, live on a small horse farm in Clinton.

Refreshments will be served after the presentation.
