WellNow Urgent Care has announced that its Rome center will now offer extended hours of operation to patients in Oneida County.
The facility will now be open from 7 a.m. to 11 p.m. seven days a week — with no appointments needed. Patients may check in online to hold their spot in line and reduce their wait time.
“Injuries and illnesses don’t stick to a 12-hour schedule, so neither should the care needed to treat them,” said WellNow Urgent Care President John Radford. “By providing early morning and late-night hours, we’re able to offer Rome and neighboring communities an alternative to the emergency room or delaying care.”
Previously, the Rome office was open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. With the new extended hours, patients can receive all urgent care treatments and services in the new 16-hour operating window, including on-site diagnostics, X-rays and COVID-19 testing. Patients are still treated on a walk-in basis, but may also visit WellNow.com to check-in online or view up-to-date wait times.
Patients looking to receive treatment outside of the new hours can still connect with WellNow through the company’s telehealth platform. Using any web-enabled device, patients can speak directly to a WellNow provider through a secure, HIPAA-compliant video call — 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
“We aim to provide patients a sense of confidence, knowing that that when they are in need of timely medical care, a WellNow provider is available — whether it is in-person or virtually,” added Radford.
Recently, WellNow launched its on-campus COVID-19 testing program for colleges and universities. Through this program WellNow is bringing molecular (PCR) COVID-19 testing to students, faculty and staff to assist schools with their reopening process and help reduce the spread of the virus.
