Wampsville woman faces felonies, misdemeanors in theft incident
WAMPSVILLE — A Wampsville woman faces felonies after a law enforcement investigation that started with a report of a suspicious individual standing in a driveway on Daniels Drive, according to the Madison County Sheriff’s Office.
The woman, 37-year-old Sarah Arntson, has been charged with one count of second-degree burglary, two counts of fourth-degree grand larceny and one count of fifth-degree criminal possession of stolen property, all felonies. She also faces misdemeanor charges: six counts of fourth-degree attempted grand larceny, one count of petit larceny and one count of seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance.
Around 7:25 a.m. Wednesday, Madison County Sheriff’s Office deputies were dispatched to an address on Daniels Drive in the Village of Wampsville regarding an alleged suspicious individual standing in the caller’s driveway.
Upon arriving on scene, deputies encountered Arntson in the caller’s driveway.
After an investigation, deputies learned that Arntson allegedly entered the residence of the caller and stole property. Further, prior to burglarizing the residence on Daniels Drive, Arntson had attempted to steal six separate sheriff’s office vehicles that were parked in the Madison County Complex parking lot, deputies said.
Following arrest processing, Arntson was transported to the Madison County jail to await arraignment in CAP Court.
