Please go to the polls on Tuesday and vote in favor of the Rome City School District budget. It’s the wise choice for the students.
Real objections to the budget should be made not in the vote, not to the board itself, but to Albany. Albany is the real problem. Albany’s political machinations and backsliding have left local school districts in a poor circumstance indeed. They tell us what to do, restrict our funding options, and don’t make up the difference.
If the budget is defeated, a resulting contingency budget would only take it out on good teachers, administrators, and students.
Please vote in favor of the budget. And if you feel strongly enough, take the time to contact Albany legislators and the Governor.
