Volunteers sought for photography project

UTICA — Utica Love and Erin Covey Creative are seeking 300 women in the Utica area ages 16 and up to photograph as part of a photography project that will be revealed at the Soul Sisters Movement event on Aug. 16 in Utica.

Women of all ethnicities are encouraged and welcome to participate. Photography sessions are scheduled for May 21 and 22 from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. at the Stief, 618 Varick St.

“This is a visual representation of empowerment and beauty we have as women in Utica. As a collective, the heart and soul of Utica lies within our diversity,” says the owner of BB designs, Angela Johnson. “We hope to bring together women of all races, cultures, creeds, and backgrounds as a way to celebrate sisterhood. “

Women interested in participating are not required to schedule a specific time for their photo or dress in a particular style, but are encouraged to drop in during the designated times. Sessions will be no longer than 10 minutes, and participants must sign a release. A courtesy RSVP can be made through the Soul Sisters Movement Facebook page.
