The Rome Free Academy girls volleyball team, the four seed in the Class A postseason tournament, advanced to the semifinals with a four-set win over visiting East Syracuse-Minoa Friday.

The Black Knights won the first two sets 25-19 and 25-16 before ES-M took its lone set 25-22.

RFA then closed out the match with a 25-17 win.

Elizabeth Hanba had 11 kills and 11 digs for RFA. Thylia Keoviengsamay had 30 assists, six digs, four aces, three blocks and two kills.

Statistics for ES-M were not submitted.

RFA (12-3) plays at New Hartford (17-1), the top seed, at 6 p.m. Wednesday.

Warriors advance to semis

The Whitesboro girls volleyball team advanced to the Class A semifinals with a 3-0 win against Watertown Friday.

The Warriors won sets 25-14, 25-13 and 25-11.

Kylee Decarr had 11 kills, 12 digs and seven aces for Whitesboro. Eva Quackenbush and Riley Collis each had seven kills. Tessa Nash had 24 assists, seven aces and four digs.

Watertown’s Kate Ciscell had four kills, four blocks and four digs for Watertown.

The Warriors (15-2) will play at Indian River (15-1), the two seed, at 6 p.m. Wednesday.

Tully eliminates Dolgeville

Six-seeded Dolgeville was eliminated by three seed Tully in the Class C girls volleyball playoffs Friday.

Tully won three sets — 25-7, 25-15 and 25-11.

Samantha Garback had seven kills for Tully and Keagan Usherwood and Catherine Lund had six each.

For Dolgeville, Kendall Wilcox had three kills and six digs. Reece Lamphere had two kills, 10 digs, four assists and a pair of aces.

Tully advanced to play at two seed Beaver River at 6:30 tonight.

Dolgeville ends the season 14-3.

Bears stay unbeaten

The Chittenango boys volleyball team eked out a five-set win at Canastota Saturday in Section III league play.

The teams alternated set wins until the Bears won the final set 15-9.

For Canastota, Jesse DeMaintenon had 11 kills, four digs and three assists. Caleb Notaro had 13 digs, three kills, three assists and a pair of aces.

Statistics for Chittenango were not submitted.

Chittenango (13-0) hosts VVS at 6:45 tonight in the league.

Canastota (8-6) hosts RFA at 6:45 tonight in the league.

Sauquoit tops Westmo

The Sauquoit Valley boys volleyball got a four-set win at Westmoreland in Section III play Saturday.

Westmoreland won the first set 26-24 then Sauquoit ran off three set wins 25-9, 25-14 and 25-7.

Sauquoit’s Quincy Stayton had 15 kills. Mason Farrell had 13 kills, three assists and two digs.

Carter McGregor had six kills, three aces and two digs for Westmoreland. Nathan Clough had eight assists.

Sauquoit (9-5) ends the regular season hosting Little Falls at 6:45 tonight in the league.

Westmoreland (2-10) hosts Cincinnatus at 6:45 p.m. tonight in the league.
