OLD FORGE — Hosted by View Center for the Arts, renowned local artist Mary Murphy will share her craft through Zoom through a drawing and painting class to be held Sundays, Feb. 21 through March 14.
Each class will be held from 3:30-5 p.m.
Cost is $160, $140 for View members. Pre-registration is required, as space is limited. Register online by Feb. 19 at View Arts.org/workshops.
Murphy is a signature member of the Central New York Watercolor Society (CNYWS) and has been recognized in national and regional shows with master status and awards. Most recently, she has been juried into The Art Students League New York City exhibition, “At the Table” (2021), comic book competition, “This Quarantine Life Comics Anthology” (2020), the Adirondack National Exhibition of American Watercolors (ANEAW), and the Cooperstown National Art Show.
She received the Judge’s Choice Award at the 2019 CNYWS juried exhibition. She exhibited a solo show at View in 2018, titled “Mary P. Murphy Watercolors — from Still Life to Plein Air” and in November of 2018 she was juried into the Conception Art exhibition in New York City. She was selected for a solo show in 2021 by the Adirondack Lakes Center for the Arts in Blue Mountain Lake, New York.
In 2014, she videotaped her first of three watercolor classes by the Craftsy Corporation where she now has more than 10,000 online students. In 2016 through 2018, Mary was an artist in residence at Wiawaka in Lake George, New York. Her website is www.marypmurphy.com.
