View hosts popular jewelry class

OLD FORGE — View arts center, 3273 Route 28, will offer its popular class series, Silver Jewelry Making with Robert Moore, starting Thursday, Jan. 10. The six-week class will run from 6-9 p.m. and is open to beginners.

Moore will teach silversmithing fundamentals and introduce the craft’s various tools and their use. Sharpening, cutting, forming, and soldering silver will be covered. Class participants will choose a specific piece they would like to create, such as a ring, pendant or small project. Moore has more than 40 years experience in jewelry art, beginning at the Town of Webb School in an art class taught by Al Stripp and Carmen Lesito. He continued his education with Angelo Pegleane.
