View hosts Mountaineer Jonathan Zaharek Saturday

OLD FORGE — Mountaineer and photographer Jonathan Zaharek will give a special lecture at View, the center for arts and culture, at 3273 Route 28, at 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 22.

Zaharek is a five-time 46er and a two-time Winter 46er. To celebrate the event, View is offering free admission to the galleries, lecture and all other events on Jan. 22. 

During the lecture, Zaharek will dive deep into his passion for the outdoors and the meaning behind what it means to be a Winter 46er, the history and meaning behind these mountains, and his personal story. Stick around after the lecture to view Zaharek’s series, The Winter 46which will be on display through March 19.

As part of the festivities, View will have an ice bar and a fire in their courtyard from 2-5 p.m. At 3 p.m., View will feature a special 509 Extreme Snowmobile Movie on its big screen with giveaways, sponsored by Northeast Power Sports. A special reception will be held on Jan. 29 from 4-7 p.m. for The Winter 46 and the rest of the winter exhibits currently on display.
