View announces April workshops

OLD FORGE — View, the center of arts and culture at 3273 Route 28, will host workshops in the coming weeks on felting and pet silhouettes. Pre-registration is required by calling 315-369-6411, or online at

• To celebrate the love of pets, View will host a Ladies Night Out Event where participants paint their pet’s silhouettes from 5-7 p.m. Wednesday, April 13.

Erin Grabosky, View’s workshop coordinator, will help participants design and paint the perfect pet silhouette they can proudly display on their walls. After registration, email Grabosky your pet picture, and she will prepare your pet’s silhouette before you step through the doors.

Each student will make an 11-inch by 14-inch pet silhouette painting that will be ready to take home with you by the end of the night. As always, admission comes with two drink tickets for the cash bar, where you can sip some wine or signature cocktails as the paint dries.

Cost is $45, $35 for members. Registration ends April 12 or when the event is full.

• View will host a Felted Succulent Sculpture workshop from noon to 4 p.m. Saturday, April 16 — a one-of-a-kind beginner level felting class, led by visiting fiber artist Mallory Zondag.

Felting is an ancient process, used to lock together wool fibers quickly and efficiently. In this four-hour crash course to felting, students will be able to form basic shapes that will turn into life like sculptures of plants. Students will have a variety of plant models to choose from and receive step-by-step help.

Cost is $85, $75 for members. All materials will be provided, but students must register before April 8.
