OLD FORGE — The fan-favorite Chili Bowl Luncheon will celebrate its 16th year at View, the Center for Arts and Culture, from noon to 3 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 18.

The event will include hand-made bowls and chili from more than a dozen area restaurants.

Patrons may have the opportunity to escape winter, warm up with a bowl of chili and take home a quality piece of functional artisanal art. Everyone will choose from the variety of hand-crafted, ceramic bowls created by the talented local and regional potters, ranging in price from $18 to $30.  Everyone who purchases a bowl will be able to try all the chilis being offered. Chili can be purchased without a ceramic bowl for $10.

Chili and soups will be donated by several restaurants including ADK Dog House, DiOrio’s Supermarket, Dough a Deer Bakery, Feast and Festivities, Great Pines, Mountainside Smokehouse & Grill, North Country Market, Slickers Adirondack Tavern, The Steak House, The Woods Inn, and View will be making a number of different chilis, as well as Ms. Hazel’s Mac & Cheese. Additional restaurants are likely to contribute to the big day.

New for this year, everyone at the Chili Bowl will be able to vote for the People’s Choice Award. The winning restaurant will receive the coveted ceramic chili pepper trophy made by Pottery Manager Alaina Hall.

The restaurant will be able to display the traveling trophy for the year and get their name engraved on the plaque before it goes back to View for next year’s Chili Bowl. Desserts will be made by several volunteer bakers and will be included with the purchase of chili.

Non-perishable foods will be collected by View at the door to support the local community. All food collected will be donated to the food pantries in Old Forge and Inlet.

View is located at 3273 State Route 28.
