Victim air-lifted to hospital after UTV crash in Lewis County
PINCKNEY — Two people were hospitalized — one air-lifted to a Syracuse hospital — after their UTV rolled over on Cronk Road in Lewis County early Saturday morning, according to the Lewis County Sheriff's Office.
Sheriff's deputies said the 2020 Can-Am Maverick was northbound on Cronk Road at about 4:21 a.m. Saturday when it failed to negotiate a curve and rolled over several times, before crashing into a tree. Angelo Curto, 46, of New Jersey, was air-lifted by Mercy Flight helicopter to University Hospital in Syracuse, while Pawel Lekacz, 34, of New York City, was treated and released from the county hospital.
The investigation into the crash remains ongoing.
