Vernon driver hospitalized after crash

TOWN OF VERNON — A 69-year-old driver was ticketed and hospitalized following a rear-ending crash on East Seneca Street Thursday morning.

Sheriff’s deputies said Kris Richardson, of Vernon, was westbound on East Seneca Street at about 8:19 a.m. when he failed to stop in time at a red light at the intersection with Wood Road. Deputies said Richardson’s 2009 Pontiac rear-ended a 2017 Jeep Wrangler driven by Jordan Walker, 29, also of Vernon.

Richardson was taken to the Oneida Health Care Center for chest pain, authorities said.

He was also ticketed for following too closely, deputies stated.
