West Canada Valley routs Herkimer to remain unbeaten

The West Canada Valley girls basketball team led visiting Herkimer 20-2 after a quarter and got a 51-17 Thursday. Reese Fellows scored 16 and had 20 rebounds for a double-double in the Center State Conference victory.

Hanna Burdick had nine points and four assists in the win. Ava Fellows scored eight and grabbed eight boards. Analyce Grabowski scored eight and had six assists and four steals.

Madison Marusic led Herkimer with eight points.

West Canada remains undefeated at 12-0 and will travel to Dolgeville at 7 p.m. Tuesday in the league.

Herkimer (6-6) plays at Sauquoit Valley at 7 p.m. Tuesday in the league.

Notre Dame offense erupts

The Utica-Notre Dame girls basketball team had three players score in double digits Thursday including Maggie Trinkaus with a 14-point, 13-rebound double-double. The Jugglers beat visiting Central Valley Academy 71-36 in the Tri-Valley League.

Ella Trinkaus scored 14 with six rebounds, four steals and three assists. Sydney Sehring scored 13 as well.

The Jugglers led 39-23 at the break and outscored the Thunder 21-4 in the third to put the game out of reach.

Statistics for CVA were not submitted.

Notre Dame (7-3) hosts Baldwinsville at 1 this afternoon in non-league play.

CVA (4-6) hosts TVL foe New Hartford at 7 p.m. Monday.
