Utica Zoo to host Eggstravaganza

The Utica Zoo Eggstravaganza returns to the scenic grounds of the zoo on Saturday, April 20, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Eggstravaganza is unlike other Easter themed events — the focus is all about the Egg. From animals who lay eggs, to the much loved Egg Hunt, the zoo Eggstravaganza has fun for the entire family.

Visitors will be able to explore the zoo and celebrate the numerous different species of animal who lay eggs and learn how truly different and unique each egg can be.

There will be animal meet and greets, egg themed enrichment for the animals, STEM based crafts, animal bio facts to explore, and lots more, according to an announcement by event organizers.

Visitors to the zoo for the Eggstravaganza shoudl make sure to bring a basket for the Egg Hunt and their best smile for photos with the Easter Bunny, the zoo officials added.

Participants can also get their face painted by Coco’s Big Shoe Clowns, with designs ranging from event organizers said, adding that there will be numerous vendors, including food and drink options.

Eggstravaganza is included with zoo admission. Admission is $8, $4.75 for children aged 3-12 years old, seniors 62 and over, military, veterans, and college students with ID will pay $6.75. Children under 2 enter free. Members receive free admission. The Egg Hunt costs $5 per person, $3 for members.

There will be a membership booth prior to entering the zoo for visitors to become members to take advantage of member pricing.

The event is sponsored by Empower Federal Credit Union.
