Utica woman charged with stabbing ex
UTICA — A 20-year-old woman is accused of stabbing her ex-boyfriend in the leg during an argument in Utica, according to the Utica Police Department.
Police said Samantha Windover, of Oriskany, and her ex-boyfriend were at his residence in Utica discussing their relationship after midnight on Thursday when she grabbed a hunting knife from his bed stand and threatened him with it. Police said the ex attempted to get the knife away from Windover, at which point she stabbed him once in the leg and fled the residence.
The ex-boyfriend was taken to the St. Luke's campus of the Mohawk Valley Health System in New Hartford, where the authorities were notified. He was treated for his injury.
Windover was located a short time later and was taken into custody on one count each of second-degree assault and fourth-degree possession of a weapon, authorities stated. She is scheduled to appear in Utica City Court.
