Utica woman charged after Monday night attack, police say
UTICA — A 45-year-old woman is accused of joining in on an attack on a neighbor on Armory Drive in Utica Monday night, according to the Utica Police Department.
Police said several people attacked a man in the 1700 block at about 9:10 p.m. Monday. Police said the man was struck with baseball bats and sticks, and he was taken to St. Elizabeth Medical Center in Utica for the injuries to his face and head.
The victim identified neighbor Yarida Quiones-Cotta as one of the people who attacked him, police stated. She was found in another apartment and was taken into custody without incident. Police said the weapons used in the attack were also found nearby.
Quiones-Cotta is charged with felony second-degree assault and fourth-degree possession of a weapon, police stated. She is scheduled to appear in Utica City Court.
