Utica woman accused of stealing more than $8K in gems, jewelry and power tools
UTICA — A Utica woman is accused of stealing jewelry, gem stones and power tools from a garage on Mathews Avenue, according to the Utica Police Department.
Police said Mindy Land, 41, stole jewelry, gems, power tools and other household items — worth more than $8,000 — from a garage in the 1200 block of Mathews Ave. at about 8:30 p.m. Tuesday. Police said the theft was caught on security cameras, and the homeowner knew Land from previous encounters.
Land is charged with third-degree burglary and petty larceny, police said. She is scheduled to appear in Utica City Court.
