UTICA — A pair of Utica teenagers is accused of breaking into an apartment and a business on Bleecker Street, according to the Utica Police Department.

Police said they were dispatched to a burglary in progress in the 1300 block of Bleecker shortly after midnight on Aug. 25. Police said they found a 15-year-old and a 17-year-old inside the building, and both teenagers were taken into custody. Their identities were not released due to their young ages.

While inspecting the break-in, police said they saw that a rock had been used to break out a window, which is likely how the teens got inside. Police said the apartment was connected to a commercial business, and both locations had multiple drawers opened and rifled through.

One of the teens had stolen property found on his person, police stated.

The teens have both been charged with one count each of second-degree burglary and petty larceny, police said. They are scheduled to appear in Oneida County Family Court.
