Utica St. Patrick’s parade to hold food drive during event

Posted
UTICA — The Utica St. Patrick’s Day Parade will host their 14th annual food drive.

For the 14th year, non-perishable food items will be collected during the Utica St. Patrick’s Day Parade on Saturday, March 11. The food drive will benefit the Mother Marianne West Side Kitchen, named for Saint Marianne Cope, a Utica-native who was canonized as a saint by Pope Benedict XVI in October 2012.

Anyone planning to attend the parade is being asked to bring a non-perishable food donation to place in the wheelbarrows as they pass by. Attendees are also asked to make sure to check the expiration date to ensure the item is still usable. Containers will also be available for those wishing to make monetary contributions.

All food donations will be delivered after the parade to the Mother Marianne West Side Kitchen.
