Utica salutes ‘Healthcare Heroes’

UTICA — The City of Utica recently purchased “Healthcare Heroes” flags and hung them in front of the Mohawk Valley Health System’s St. Elizabeth and Faxton campus, as well as Slocum Dickson to honor local healthcare workers, according to a release.

“Our local health care workers are on the front lines in combating the coronavirus pandemic and it is imperative we do everything we can to show our gratitude and appreciation,” said Mayor Robert Palmieri in a release.

“The best way to honor our healthcare workers is to continue to observe the guidelines from public health professionals and I urge our community to do so,” Palmieri added.

The flags were placed by Mark Sokolowski from the City of Utica Sign Shop.
