The John E. Creedon Police Benevolent Association representing the Utica Police Department has endorsed incumbent Republican Anthony Picente Jr. for re-election as Oneida County executive, Picente’s campaign announced.
Picente said, “Public safety is my number one priority as county executive. I’m grateful that the Utica Police Benevolent Association recognizes my commitment to our community and to the men and women in blue. I’m humbled by their support and endorsement.”
Picentehas also received an endorsement by the Democratic Sheriff Rob Maciol, The New York State Troopers Benevolent Association, the CNY Labor Council, IBEW, and the Independence and Conservative Parties. Picente faces Democrat Michael Hennessy, a former county legislator and Sherrill city commissioner on Election Day, Nov. 5.
