Utica police seek suspects in gunfire incident

Utica Police are searching for four males believed to be involved in a shots fired incident near Thomas R. Proctor High School Monday evening.

Police said they were dispatched to the area of Tilden Avenue and Armory Drive at about 7:30 p.m. for a report of shots fired.

Police said that they found 13 spent bullet casings in the area and an undisclosed
quantity of narcotics.

The shots fired took place just east of the athletic fields at Proctor High School and northeast of Mohawk Valley Community College.

Police said they received information that a white sedan was involved in the gunfire and fled the scene. Home surveillance camera footage from several blocks away captured the car coming to a stop and four males getting out.

Police said the vehicle was abandoned.

Police shared the camera footage on their Facebook page. Anyone with information on the gunfire or the four males is asked to call the Major Crimes Unit at 315-223-3510. All calls will be kept confidential.
