Utica police probe shootings

Two men were shot in separate incidents in Utica between Wednesday and Thursday. No arrests have been made so far; the investigations are continuing.

Police said they were dispatched to the 900 block of Elizabeth St. for a report of shots fired at 5:20 p.m. Wednesday. Police said they found a man who had been shot in the torso. The victim was rushed to St. Elizabeth Medical Center for treatment with non life-threatening injuries.

Police were on the scene of a second shooting at about 6 p.m. Thursday in the 1400 block of Neilson St. Police said a man had been struck by gunfire and he was taken to a local hospital for treatment.
