Utica police probe shooting on city’s east side Tuesday

One man was shot in the pelvis on Utica’s east side Tuesday night and city police are investigating.

No arrests have been made so far.

Police said they were dispatched to the intersection of Kossuth Avenue and Elizabeth Street shortly before 10 p.m. Tuesday for a shots fired call. Police said they found a man in the 800 block of Elizabeth St. with several gunshot wounds to his pelvic area.

The man was alert and conscious, and authorities said he was transported to St. Elizabeth Medical Center. His injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

Police said the shooting remains under investigation and there is no suspect information so far. Anyone with information on the shooting is asked to call either the Criminal Investigations Division at 315-223-3510 or the Major Crimes Unit at 315-360-6976.
