Utica man dies in Route 28N accident

TOWN OF LONG LAKE — A Utica man died in a motor vehicle accident in Hamilton County on Wednesday afternoon.

State police said Edward Brown Jr., 67, of Utica, was eastbound on Route 28N when his 2013 Chevy Impala crashed into a Department of Environmental Conservation pickup truck. The 2015 Dodge Ram pickup was driven westbound by Alfred J. Hoyt, 48, of Tupper Lake.

Troopers said Brown’s car hit a guiderail and Hoyt’s pickup rolled over several times, coming to rest in a ditch.

Troopers said Brown was pronounced dead at the scene. Hoyt was not injured. The investigation is continuing.
