Utica man charged in theft of long guns
UTICA — A Utica man wanted for stealing guns from a property earlier this month was taken into custody following a foot pursuit in Herkimer County on Thursday, according to the Utica Police Department.
Police said Dayquan Linen, 21, was involved in a burglary in Utica on Friday, Sept. 2, that involved the theft of three long guns and other property. Police said Linen also has two open arrest warrants for burglary and assault.
The Herkimer Police Department found Linen in the village on Thursday and authorities said he was taken into custody following a foot pursuit and then returned to Utica.
Linen is charged with one count of second-degree burglary for the Sept. 2 incident, along with the open warrants, police said. He is scheduled to appear in Utica City Court.
Authorities noted that the stolen weapons have not been recovered.
