Utica man accused of rape


A 50-year-old Utica man was charged with having sexual intercourse with a child less than 17-years-old.

State Police Major Philip T. Rougeux and Chief Deputy Derrick O’Meara of the Oneida County Child Advocacy Center, said Calvin K. Hoyle was involved in an incident with the girl at a residence in the city last month.

Hoyle was charged with third-degree rape, a class E felony.  He was arraigned in Utica City Court and held without bail. The victim was offered services through the CAC, O’Meara said.

The investigation was conducted by the state police.
