UTICA — A Utica man is accused of raping a teenage girl in the city, according to the county Child Advocacy Center.
Investigators said Michael Castro, 25, raped a 16-year-old girl on multiple occasions in Utica in January. Castro was taken into custody on Wednesday.
Castro is charged with one count each of third-degree rape and endangering the welfare of a child, authorities stated. He was arraigned in City Court and was sent to county jail in lieu of $20,000 cash bail.
He is scheduled to reappear in court.
The victim has been offered counseling through the CAC.
