Utica City will not renew contract of head coach Hall

UTICA — Utica City FC announced Tuesday that the club will not be renewing the contract of head coach Ryan Hall.

Hall was the head coach in Utica for three seasons beginning in 2018. The team thanked Hall and said "his hard work and dedication were essential to the foundation of the organization." Prior to the club’s inaugural season he served as head coach of the Syracuse Silver Knights for the 2017-18 campaign. Hall was a student-athlete at Syracuse University and began playing professionally in 2003.

The team was 10-14 this season. Utica opted out of the MASL season last year due to the pandemic. In 2019-20, Utica City was 14-3-3.

“We truly appreciate everything Ryan has brought to our organization over the last three years, and wish him the best in the future.” Utica City general manager Tommy Tanner said. “We look forward to finding a new coach and introducing them to our fanbase soon.”

Utica City will begin the search for the team’s new leadership immediately.
