Upstate should take action against blue-green algae

I lived on Rome Oriskany Road from 1950 thru 1968, graduating from Oriskany Central High School and enjoyed every day of walking along the Erie Canal or the Mohawk River on my grandfather’s farm. (David Teuscher).

I recently read an article in the Daily Sentinel about one of the lakes where the blue-green algae is becoming a problem. A word to the wise: Look at the west coast of Florida. This algae has been present for the past 20 years with nothing being done until now.

It is killing marine life from Naples all the way up to Sarasota. The Red Tide mixed with the blue green algae is destroying the beaches and the politicians are sitting on their thumbs knowing the problem was there and getting worst year by year. Please do not let this happen to upstate.
